Help me give my students balance and strong bodies with tricycles, hippity- hoppy bouncers, and a utility rolling storage cart to create strong and healthy gross motor skills.
A quality early childhood program must provide various outdoor play experiences so children can develop balance, locomotor, and manipulative skills to develop healthy bodies and minds through play!
We want to provide our four-year-old children with outdoor equipment built for their young bodies, equipment that engages and excites them, and challenges their physical development.
The selected tricycles are built for four-year-old children. One has a handle for an adult to guide those needing help as they learn. The hippity-hoppers will fill them with delight as they gain balance skills and core strength. The rolling cart will provide a safe place to store the hippity-hoppers.
Evidence-based research suggests that gross skills are foundational in preparing a young child's brain to learn to read, write, and engage in fine motor skills. Furthermore, big-body play and motor planning significantly develop a child's ability to create a sense of self, perseverance, and self-regulation. These skills build a foundation for later social-emotional success.
