Rollicking Recorders Too!
My students need a set of classroom recorders to help them learn about instruments and performing as a group and as individuals!
Giving students the experience of learning an instrument helps them to grow not only as an individual, but also as a group. Help us to grow together!
We are a low-income school with a great student population that is excited to learn and grow.
We have a high free/reduced lunch rate and asking the students to purchase their own recorders is not a feasible option. There is a high rate of transitory students and our many cultures can cause rifts between them. Our goal is to create an activity that everyone can be a part of and can help to bring groups together in a common goal.
We are just asking that we get a classroom set of recorders that can be used in order to help develop the skills that it takes to play an instrument. Learning an instrument helps to develop coordination, language skills, interpretation skills, and group dynamics. We will give them an experience in self discipline and group performance that they can use to help their schooling in the future.
Students who take part in music instruments have higher than average abilities in creative thinking, social interactions, and critical thinking skills.
Please give these students a good starting point from which to grow.
