I teach reading/language arts and social studies to two sets of classes.My morning class is a special education inclusion room, meaning that nearly half the class is comprised of students with special needs who are learning along side students in the general education program. My afternoon class is a general education classroom with nine students being in the bilingual program.
My students are from incredibly diverse backgrounds representing 13 countries, multiple languages, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds.
It is truly an international community of learners.
With the majority of my students being English language learners, a magnetic dry-erase flip chart easel is a crucial component to my lessons because it helps incorporate visual displays and engages the students in the material we are covering.
My students are learning in a classroom that was constructed in 1916 complete with the original blackboards.
We have a document camera and projector to project during whole class instruction, but a rolling, magnetic, dry erase board flip chart easel would be extremely beneficial to use with my students. It will help me move easily around the classroom when working with small leveled groups so that I can best meet their individual needs.
