Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school uses the UFLI program to support reading development, and it has been incredibly effective—our students are making great progress! To build on this success, I want to actively involve families in their children’s learning. One simple, fun, and meaningful way to do that is by sending home Roll and Read activity pages. These engaging exercises help reinforce the skills taught in class while encouraging quality time and communication at home.

To make this possible, I’m requesting supplies to create take-home learning kits: multiple sets of dice, plastic baggies to store the dice, plastic file folders for the activity pages, and binder clips to attach the dice bags inside the folders.

My goal is to spark conversations between students and their families about what they’re learning in class—through a fun, hands-on format that brings literacy to life beyond the school walls.
