Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of a large community with several schools and I am fortunate enough to be their teacher. Kindergarten is the start of their educational careers and it is a time to explore a love of learning, the start of friendships and developing creativity. Many of the children come from a low socioeconomic background. Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, the students are going to be learning virtually. I would like to take some of the struggles away from them by supplying items that will make the virtual learning easier for them.
My Project
The materials will help the students with virtual learning. The headphones will help reduce background noises and distractions. The mouse will make the use of a Chromebook easier since the tracking pad can be tricky to navigate for a young learner. Since this is a kindergarten class, many of them have minimal practice using a Chromebook. These products will make it easier for them. The students will use the Chromebook to complete math assignments using an online program. They will watch educational videos and participate in whole group and small group lessons via virtual meetings.
