Rocking the Geosphere!

Help me give my students a wonderful experience while studying the Earth's systems. This rock tumbler will allow my students to observe the changes in the environment and how each of the 4 spheres affect each other.

My Students

I’m a first-year math and science teacher for 5th grade. My students have been through so much the last 2 years with COVID. Through it all their spirits haven’t been broken. They are all still eager to learn. They love with their whole hearts and support each other. These students bring light to a dark day with their smiles, enthusiasm, selflessness, and love!

My Project

We are currently studying Earth's systems. We plan to tumble rocks so the students can see the way the Earth's Systems affect one another. The students will control the rock tumbler and experience the rocks in their calcified state and then in their natural state. This is something I will be able to use every year with my students to investigate the Earth's Systems, specifically the Geosphere. It's so important for students to have hands on activities to help them learn. This tumbler will allow for that, and also allow the students to have more say in their learning experience.
