My Students
My busy bee second graders are eager each day to learn something new! They are always challenging themselves to try something a new strategy in math or read a new book during independent reading. They LOVE math and books! They become so wrapped up in what we are learning. My class represents many different countries from all over the world. Many of them speak a language at home other than English. I’m fact, a majority of my school (students and staff) speak another language at home. We are a very diverse and culturally rich family oriented school! My students though, work extremely hard and are eager to make themselves, their parents and myself proud!
My Project
Harry, Henry, Mudge, Cam...these are all the characters that my second graders love! Unfortunately, we have very few of these books in our classroom library and purchasing these new sets of books is costly. Children love to read high-interest books and my classroom library is quite dated. With your donation, these new books will enable many reluctant readers in my classroom to become motivated and enthralled with a character. My hope is that they will read the entire series! We also will be able to use these series books to study characters and how characters change throughout a series. Personality traits, qualities and so much more! Kids read what they love and they will LOVE these books!
