My Students
Take a moment to think about your kindergarten experience. Did you just get a feeling of nostalgia, too? Kindergarten is an amazing and fun time that teaches you the foundations of reading, writing, and math.
The children I teach are energetic, wonderful, hardworking students.
Some of them come from situations that no one should ever experience. They impress me every day with their awesome attitudes and desire to learn. We are a full-day kindergarten class at a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. The student population is 33% Caucasian, 26% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 11% African American, and 28% other.
My Project
Literacy is vital for our young readers to be successful in all subject areas.
Our guided reading library is in need of sets of books and by purchasing these titles, you will assist students in multiple grade levels.
They will be used during our whole group reading and writing segments.
This project is going to help expand our library and provide us access to the engaging readers curriculum. By adding these book titles, we will be able to study the authors and do close reads. The students will also learn key comprehension skills such as inferring, predicting, creating opinions, and retelling stories using key details. Please consider donating to this project. Thank you in advance.
