My Students

I work in a high-poverty school so at the beginning of the day I make sure all basic needs like breakfast and being properly dressed are met before I start teaching. I greet my students with a handshake and a grin each morning. They come in, and we quickly get to work. They love to move while they work. Reading takes place all over the room. They love using technology to read and learn.

They are happy and enthusiastic kids, and I love that I get to help mold and prepare them for their future.

My Project

My students are working hard to increase their reading fluency. We work on this skills using many different methods.

They love to do reader's theater and the boom box with microphone would allow them to practice reading orally for the class.

The more they practice the reader's theater, the more fluent readers they will become.

I also would love to have trophies and prizes to give out when they reach their goals. I love to encourage them by rewarding them.

The whisper phones will allow them to read to themselves. They will be able to actually hear how they read and help them to increase reading fluency as well. The combination of the speaker with microphone, whisper phones, and prizes will help motivate and encourage them to become fluent readers. My goal is to use these tools to push my kids to be their best!
