My Project

I teach third grade at a core knowledge public school in Fort Collins, Colorado. Families choose to send their children to our school because they know that we are passionate about supporting students through all of their educational endeavors and helping them grow into future scientists, doctors, engineers and more.

My 3rd grade classroom is full of twenty five students who each come from unique and diverse backgrounds.

Each student brings their unique story that allows our classroom family to learn from each other daily. Teaching in a post COVID 19 world has brought significant changes to our everyday lives both inside and outside of school. Since returning from two years of shifting from virtual school to in person school, I have noticed that my students need more opportunities to move during the school day as well as more hands on math manipulatives to fill any gaps that they may have.

These new books will support our brand new reading curriculum as trade books that will be used to explore different topics and will help my students explore other cultures and learn about people who are different from them. These academic supplies will support my students learning and engaging with new math concepts and explore technology with greater success using the wired mice and new headphones. They also will be able to move their bodies while still engaging in their academic tasks using the wobble stools and surf desks.
