Rocking Our Learning!

Help me give my students the opportunity to go rock mining to learn more about all the materials found on the surface of Earth, including rocks and minerals, soil, and other natural resources.

My Project

The rock sets and sifters will be used to create mining bags for students to mine in a sluice box that was handmade for these little learners! These supplies will be perfect for our project-based learning experience in first grade.

Both first-grade classes will be learning about the materials found on the surface of Earth, including rocks and minerals, soil, and other natural resources.

This project includes reading, writing, research, hands-on experiences, and a field trip at the end to make real-world connections to what they are learning.
