My Students

Pre-K for All is a new program within the New York City Department of Education that provides all four year olds with full day quality education. Pre-K for All gives children stronger reading and math skills.

My site is a Pre-K Center exclusively dedicated to pre-k students.

We are located in Brooklyn and have a diverse population.

We have a center based learning model. The students learn by engaging in purposeful play while teachers engage the students in meaningful conversations.

In my program we like to provide lessons that are interactive so the children can learn by doing.

My Project

Each year I strive to make my classroom inviting and exciting. After a few years supplies run out and get worn out. Last year I started the year off by reading Pete the Cat- Rocking in my School Shoes by James Dean. The children instantly loved Pete the Cat and we read many Pete the Cat books throughout the year. This year I would like to bring Pete the Cat into the classroom by using classroom organization charts and decorations, like borders, labels and name tags, that are centered around Pete the Cat. The new material will allow me to decorate my classroom to make it inviting and exciting for my incoming students.
