This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten is a foundational year! I want to help my kindergarten students learn how to be themselves and accept others for who they are! My school is a Title One school. Many of my kindergarteners will be coming to a school setting for the first time!

My Project

In kindergarten we gather together as a class multiple times a day for lessons on the floor. Not all the students are comfortable sitting with their legs crossed. Each of these items would help students be able to choose what would be the most comfortable for them so they can listen to the lesson. The seat cushions and rocker chairs would bring an excitement to our classroom and engage the students in the lesson. Each of these would be available to all the students throughout the day. We are so excited to bring flexible seating into our classroom!
