My Students
First grade in the best place in the world. It is a magical time where kids learn everything about their environment. They develop creativity and enhance their imagination. They become more independent, while still aiming to please! My students are high-poverty, low-income students from a very culturally diverse population. They are inspired by the world around them, but often times do not get exposure to much more than our rural town. We are a Title I school, but we work hard to excel. All teachers work hard to provide the best-individualized education for all students. Our first-grade class is made up of students who are eager to learn about everything.
My Project
There has been such a recent push for Science and Technology materials, but we can not forget about our art-lovers! I am in a Title One school where we only have art for half of the school year. I want to be able to give my students the opportunity to do art projects all year!!
Art helps learners to develop creative problem-solving skills.
Art helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.
With these art materials, my students will be able to create projects for different integrated ELA, Science, or Social Studies lessons. They will be able to choose art as a daily morning STEAM center.
They will be able to let their creativity shine in our first-grade classroom!!
