My Students

My students live in a rural area in Kern County, California. They are bright, funny, and inquisitive. Like most 2nd graders they love coming to school to learn.

Learning though doesn't mean you need to sit still.

My students like to move! Whether it's walking around the room, bouncing in their seats, or wiggling on the floor, learning is still going on in my classroom. I want to offer more choices to my students as to where they can sit and still work in our classroom.

My Project

My students need the choice to work where they are comfortable in the classroom. Using scoop rocker chairs and lap trays gives them the benefit of working in a more relaxing environment while still learning. Students are limited in our classroom as to where they can work. Available choices to work in our room at this time are their desks, the back table, the counter, or on the floor.

I would love to have more flexible seating available to my students.

My students are eager and ready to learn. Having a choice where to sit comfortably is the first step in becoming an independent learner.
