My Students
My classroom is a diverse inclusive classroom of low-income students aged 3 to 5. For most of my students, this is their first learning experience. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We are located in the inner city of Pittsburgh and provide a free comprehensive program that is designed to nurture and support each child as we prepare them to transition to kindergarten.
My students are very interested in learning about letters, math social studies, engineering, and science, and enjoy exploring with technology.
They are dreamers, thinkers, and questioners and love to discover new things about the world around them. Despite the challenges they face they come to school each day ready to work and play with smiles and positive attitudes.
My Project
We live in a society where technology is necessary for communication, travel, business, and learning. Young learners need daily opportunities to explore and utilize technology to prepare them for 21st-Century learning skills.
Our students deserve the opportunity to explore and utilize technology so they will become confident and fluent in Reading, Math, and Computer skills.
I am asking for an iPad to help my little geniuses learn important skills and develop their knowledge and ability to use technology. This will help my students learn how to use creativity and problem-solving skills through hands-on-play. They will be able to use apps that will allow them hands-on interaction with art, math, science, and reading. The headphones will allow them to work independently with no interruptions and distractions.
Having these items in our classroom will build students confidence, technology skills, understanding, and knowledge!
