My Project
Students come into my elementary music classroom with few outside enrichment opportunities in the Arts. Over 95% of my students are categorized as economically disadvantaged and I know that whatever experiences I provide for will lay the foundation for their future involvement in music.
One of my students' favorite activities is playing on xylophones and metallophones.
All of my students do get to play them, but I have to rotate which students have turns during class. A few of the classroom xylophones and metallophones are also held together using nails or other unconventional means just to keep them working and ensure more students have access.
Donating to this project will allow my students the opportunity to play xylophones and metallophones more frequently, as well as the ability to "retire" one of the older instruments that is more difficult to play.
