This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently teach 6th grade Science on a Elementary campus. Currently my students do not have access to all of the resources that will help them be successful in a Science Lab environment. This is a new program for the district I work in so I am hoping to give my students a experience that encourages them to want to build their knowledge in the STEM field.

Students will be able to read about Scientists and their discoveries in the books I am requesting.

This will help with understanding who and how Scientists have made a huge impact in their lives. As for the rocks, the kits will help with future labs as students discover the different types of rocks and their physical characteristics.

My students are special because the real world experiences are very limited. Outside the classroom my students do not have access to many experiences other students have. So creating an environment that encourages growth in and outside of the classroom is very important.
