Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As I have said in previous projects, I looped up with my class to the fifth grade! As always I have been having my students buy into my philosophy of "Never Settle for Less Than Your Best", and for them to work as hard as they can during the year. To date, they have done even more than I had hoped. I always expect my students to be role models for the other classes on their grades, but this year I challenged them to inspire the whole school. I set a goal to read around 10 class sets of books outside of the school curriculum, and this year we have been reading new books.To date, we have read One Crazy Summer, Esperanza Rising, Maniac Magee, A Wrinkle in Time and we are currently reading The Phantom Tollbooth!

I still believe that my students have even more to offer our school community.

We have talked about starting our own podcast in order to spread messages of positivity!

My Project

Technology is changing the world we live in. I have already put my classroom online via Google classroom, and I want to have my students harness technology to do more than just complete assignments. I want them to share their voices beyond the school! With the use of this podcast equipment, my students will be able to create a class podcast.

Together, we will create a class podcast that will allow students to understand the power of their voice, in order to spread their knowledge and inspire others!

Our podcast will include segments in which students can share their ideas, interview teachers, and teach listeners about topics that we have covered in class.

My students have already shown that they are full of creativity and really want to inspire others. They always amaze me with their work ethic and habit and now they will be able to share that learning with their parents and other members of our school community.
