My students enter our classroom ready to work hard, make mistakes, roll up their sleeves and work some more until they reach their goals. They show up every day to grow their brains!
Each day my students walk in from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and experiences.
But those differences aren't what stand out if you spend time in our room. What is most obvious in our class is the incredible amount of shared curiosity.
My kids work hard and push themselves every single day. They ask questions like there's no tomorrow. They aren't afraid to fail because they know that means they're trying. And, they support one another in an amazing educational journey.
My Project
Earlier this year, donors provided special "wiggle" stools to our classroom. I only requested a few to see if they made a significant impact to students. They have been a huge success! So, after having them for only a couple of months, I am back requesting more!
I am requesting Hokki stools to transforms stationary sitting into an activity!
This will help all of the students in my classroom this year and beyond.
Picture yourself, or a student you love, having the opportunity to try various forms of seating to decide what works best for them in a learning environment. This in itself is an important lesson for future self advocacy and success!
