My Project

My elementary students love to experience new ways to be creative! Exploring how to using various types of rocks and other objects found in nature in student artwork is one of the ways I incorporate cross curricular learning in the art room. With a rock tumbling machine, students could learn how to use the polished rocks to create jewelry, mobiles, sculptures, and other hanging structures. A lesson on how erosion affects stone, as well as the formation of sea glass would be a great science connection with this art project.
