My students would love a rock tumbler, a classroom Rock, Fossil, and Mineral Collections set, a geodes discovery set, 5 crystal growing discovery sets, and a volcano kit.
I have the honor of helping a fabulous bunch of 4th-graders learn! We are a title one school with a lot of varying needs. The children in my classroom are so special! Some of these children have experienced more negative events in their young lives than anyone should experience in a lifetime. They are very smart, strong, resilient, and they inspire me. I know making learning exciting, fun and motivating for them can and will help them on their journey to success. I love these students and I know with your help, we can make a difference and the effects on their lives and society will be positively endless!
All of my students are very hands-on learners. The more interactive the learning, the more they learn and retain! These students deserve the best I can give them, and this is not textbook, paper/pencil type learning. Successful educational experiences are key for students experiencing all kinds of life situations, to be motivated to move up and out of their environments, knowing they have nothing but options!
All of us love science! They have been sooo excited to learn about rocks, fossils, minerals & volcanoes. They started bringing rocks the first week of school, after they learned it was part of our 4th-grade curriculum, and the rocks keep coming!
To help empower these wonderful children, we start the day running and we never stop! We keep our whole selves into everything! This alleviates boredom, behavior problems and negative learning! We just finished with the school science fair and their projects were wonderful!
We would love a rock tumbler to assist our pile of rocks through the "rock cycle," to begin our "Rock On," experience! We would also like some Crystal Growing Discovery Sets, so we can each create and watch our crystal tree grow. To enhance our experience a Volcano kit would allow us to see how & why volcanoes erupt and what happens before, during and after! Being able to touch and see firsthand with a Classroom Rock, Fossil & Mineral Set & a Geodes set will assist students in retaining necessary information and hopefully create some future Geologists, Archaeologists & Scientists! They love doing experiments and exploring during science.
Your help will ensure that these wonderful students will achieve important learning strategies and it will also enhance their love for learning! Allowing students a variety of fun and exciting ways to explore will only increase their chances for success!! Thank you for reading about us! My students have been asking, "Is it time to Rock On?"
