This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During our Rock On! geology project, fourth graders have worked hard to excavate real local fossils in partnership with expert paleontologists at the Natural History Museum. On our visit to the NAT we were struck with not only the amazing fossils there, but also how beautifully they display their collection and information. We were inspired!

Our diverse group of young geologists is ready to curate our own fossil discoveries and hopes to create a new museum for our school!

Our hope is to share information about our local geology in an interactive display. The display cases and shelving we are asking for will provide us with a safe, beautiful, and professional-looking place to store our fossils and present our informational geology comics for years to come. These fourth graders are really excited to exhibit their learning with our community!
