Robots Take Over the Classroom

My Students

I teach about 50 gifted and talented learners from a low-income area. Approximately 80% of the students at my school receive free lunch. Some students live with grandparents or come from a single parent home. Despite the challenges my students may face, I strive to keep things interesting and challenging while incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and math with robotics.

Robots in the classroom will provide the stimulation my GATE learners need.

My students are intelligent, creative and highly motivated by technology.

My Project

My gifted and talented learners must be stimulated at all times! Robots in the classroom will keep my students engaged in learning about computer science and coding during Genius Hour and assigned projects.

Project-based and inquiry-based lessons will give students the opportunity to use the EV3 and Dash robots to solve problems relative to space, energy, and organisms' interactions.

Students will keep engineering notebooks to brainstorm, design and collaborate ideas to solve the posed problem during the assigned projects.

It is my belief that children should be given some free reign in the classroom to explore learning with tools such as the EV3 and Dash robot that nurture creative thinking that develop 21st century skills.
