Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm having an amazing time with my students and really working hard on building a positive community for our students. We are embracing a collaborative environment that supports all learners. I teach Kindergarten through 5th grade.
I have made my classroom as inviting as possible but of course there are a few items on my wish list that would benefit the learning process. My classrooms would love whiteboards. We have ton of chalkboard space but not one whiteboard. I'm looking into the type of whiteboards that can be rolled around and are double sided. My hope is for the different grade levels to have one board dedicated to their planning for their STEM projects. It would be a way to record their ideas and something they can come back to each week to revisit, revise, and edit.
My Project
Being a first year STEM teacher, I would love to have the opportunity to gather robotic tools to teach coding to our students. So many students are interested in technology and I’d love this opportunity to enhance their learning in this ever growing field. The video camera will be used by the students to document the process of PBL in our classroom and record their presentations to their peers, families, and community partners. Please consider a small donation. Hopefully it will blossom. Showing how you value our students education will let them know compassion and kindness are truly in existence. Thank you in advance for your consideration and time.
