We teach in a STEM district where the students are creative when it comes to technology and engineering. They thrive when working cooperatively and love to be challenged. Coming up with ideas and solutions to problems motivates them as this allow them to take the learning into their own hands.
Empowering students to be successful for the future is a goal for our schools and district.
Our students have many of the 21st-century skills needed for the world that is always changing and where the jobs of tomorrow are not even present today. The students love technology and are critical thinkers. They have an understanding of what it means to be a good citizen and are continually working on being effective communicators.

My Project
Through having a robotics club at our elementary schools, students will not only be able to follow their interests and learn about designing and building robots, but they will acquire many 21st-century skills that will help them beyond the club and in the future. Through robotics, students learn the importance of teamwork as they problem-solve together and gain an understanding of programming and coding. Robotics is also a great way to spark creativity, imagination, and confidence in the students.
First LEGO League Jr.
is a great way to introduce students to robotics. Through First LEGO League Jr., teams learn all about a scientific topic (topic changes every year), showcase their findings, and build a LEGO model that moves. The LEGO WeDo 2.0 Core Sets are a required part of the First LEGO League Jr. Challenge. Through receiving the WeDo 2.0 Core Sets our schools will be able to have a robotics club for years to come as these required parts can be used year after year.
