Help me give my students robotics kits. We are expanding our technology curriculum in our building to expose robotic skills from grades K-6. The goal is to start a robotics club once every student has experience using robots.
My school is in over 95 percent low income neighborhood in Philadelphia. We are beginning to learn not only the foundations technology but are beginning to do coding and media design. The way are class is set up with online tutorials, recorded lessons and music editing-headphones are a necessity.
We need robots in order to enable students to expand the curriculum to include robotics, coding tutorials and our expansion of our YouTube Channel.
We also have classes from K-6 coming in and out of the room, so the robotics experience a lot of wear and tear. Having additional robots for each student will maximize hands on learning with computer science.
Robots will allow for all children to be on a level playing field in the technology classroom. Especially for our AS, ES and ELL students, this will provide a more optimal learning environment. We appreciate your generosity towards our students!
My Project
We are in need of robots as we expand robotics into our Computer Science curriculum. Robots provide the hands-on application of coding and programming. They can truly bring the coding work to life in real time. Another goal of our school is to excite and inspire our students about Computer Science. Few things work better than robots that can be controlled by kids! The way students light up when they program a robot is beyond words. Having a few extra robots on hand can allow for the formation of a robotics club or more 1-1 access for students in a classroom.
We also use media equipment for our school YouTube channel, having robots can give us a new line of content to celebrate student work.
With your generosity, our technology program can take the next step for students K-6.
