This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These students come from diverse backgrounds within our area of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The students are young gentlemen and ladies who score in the top 20 for math and science students on our campus.
We are forming a robotics and coding team.
Our plan is to develop these students' interest in STEM by building and competing with LEGO robotics. These students should be with us for this year and next. We would like to send them on to Jr. High and beyond with an understanding and love for STEM that they can carry forward for successful careers in STEM.
My Project
This purchase will provide some add on items and supplemental parts to make the students robots more effective and useful with the infrared sensor. The remote will assist our beginners in helping their robot to move while they may still be struggling with coding process.
The figurines will be useful in creating obstacles and realistic scenes on the navigation boards.
Sparking a student's imagination is key to getting them to try new and innovative ways to make their robot perform. These kits will make that more possible as well as draw their interest while they still are learning the coding process.
