Our school consists of three hundred fifty transitional kindergarteners through third-grade students nestled among the rural Redwood coast of northern California. Even though we see the ocean from our playground most of our students haven't had the opportunity to visit the ocean.
I have amazing and fun-loving eight and nine-year-old children wanting to strive for their personal best and pack as much knowledge in their brains as possible!
They are hard workers and love to help one another learn. My students come from very different backgrounds and family structures. Although most of the students I teach come from poverty homes, they are still very happy and enjoy learning new things every day.
One of the most powerful and rewarding instructional tools at our fingertips is the usage of technology in the classroom. My students are learning to use code to find solutions to everyday problems. They are thirsty for new knowledge and the bright future that that knowledge will bring. My goal each year is to provide my students with a quality education and a classroom full of love.
These LEGO WeDo 2.0 Robot kits will be a great addition to team-based learning in my classroom. We are slowly working our way on getting a class set. Being able to use LEGO WeDo Robot kits will provide my students with hands-on engaging lessons; as well as, having the experience to receive instant feedback. Using their LEGO WeDo kits, they will explore using coding with technology and working in cooperative groups.
This project will allow my students to have fun while learning about STEAM.
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) while being engaged in a team-based learning environment. I am so excited for my students to see what LEGO WeDo 2.0 has to offer!!
