My Project
My gifted students have access to an array of different coding tools and art materials. However, they do not have any hands-on resources that combine the two. During our career unit this spring, one thing I noticed was a lack of skills when using precise measurements and exact models. Graphic design was also a popular topic as was architecture. Our art unit focused on artists using a variety of mediums. We have yet to study art created digitally by computer coding. As technology advances, this form of art will continue to evolve as humans and computers interact.
Drawing robots add another layer to the creative process using collaboration, self-expression, and exploration.
This project will provide students with 4 Artie robots, batteries and drawing paper. Students will use the robots to explore complex patterns, artistic effects, and mechanics. They can experiment with new ideas and different techniques. The drawing robots will provide a fun and engaging way to connect art to computer science, allow those with disabilities to express creativity, and encourage students to think critically. By donating to the project, you will help dozens of children have access to materials they would never be able to use. It is my job to expand there dreams beyond what they think they are capable of achieving. This project gets us all one step closer.
