Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The current job market requires students to develop 21st century skills that include creativity and collaboration. It is through theater that students in my classroom learn these skills. Students in my classroom have opportunities to explore who they are and who they want to be, while at the same time creating art. Theatre allows them to develop skills that are useful no matter what careers they choose.
Students at my school have diverse backgrounds.
My school is a Title One school and many of them receive free and reduced lunch. Despite their personal situations an emphasis on college and career readiness is placed on them. 100 percent of students involved in this program for three or more years move on to college and university programs after graduation.
My Project
The Swivl robot utilizes our existing iPads to film student projects and teacher instruction for students who may be absent from school.
This set up will bring our classroom into the 21st century through the development of students skills such as self assessment and analyzation, improve teacher feedback on in class projects, and provide an opportunity for students to begin to utilize the technological tools that will assist them.
This robot cause an iPad to follow the performer or teacher during projects and presentations. The films are then uploaded into Google Classroom so that students can analyze their work using rubrics that we develop in class and also for students to see lectures and instruction that they missed during an absence. This equipment will also help us to film our IB examinations and make it easier for students to evaluate their exam work for the solo, research, and collaborative projects.
