Robot? I Can Program a Robot

My students need the Botley the Coding Robot System to allow them to explore coding beyond a website. They need to see coding in action.

My Students

My students are from a low income area. They strive to learn but cannot seem to focus on daily learning for other challenges going on in their lives. They have many things on their young minds besides education. Many of my students are dealing with custody issues and not knowing where their next meal is coming from. Several of my students receive "Back Pack Buddies" in which they receive food to eat at home. For many, this is the only constant food supply they have.

My students want to feel loved and have some stability before they can even think about learning academically.

I want them to have a love for learning and put the things out of their control out of their young minds.

My Project

My students will be able to use coding to have Botley to move around and detect objects, to follow looping commands, to navigate obstacle courses, and to follow black lines. There are many different learning opportunities available with the Botley coding activities.

My students need a Botley Coding Robot to see the different dynamics that learning to code can offer.

They need to see what coding can actually do in the real world. They need to put their learning with coding to use to help get other students inspired to learn to code. Please help my students have the opportunity to explore learning with coding.
