Road to Reading: Part 1

Help me give my students alphabet letters, word building tiles, alphabet bingo, sight word flash cards, and games to help build early reading skills.

My Students

My students are 21st-century learners who are constantly seeking knowledge. They are always looking for ways to develop critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and personal responsibility in fun and engaging ways. English is not my students first language so they are learning to read and write for the first while also mastering a new language.

My Project

My students are second language learners who are working on reading and writing in English for the first time. They need hands on resources that make learning fun and encourages them to keep working towards their reading goals. The tools from this project will be used in multiple ways to foster independent and cooperative learning. Many of my students are still working on letter recognition. The magnetic letters, alphabet bingo boards, and Pop and Learn Letters and Numbers game will give them fun ways to practice letters daily. They will also be able to extend their learning by using the word building tiles and sight word cards as they move from learning letters to reading words.
