This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever had a cozy place to read a book or listen to a story that you loved? My students are longing to have this experience.
My school is a Title I school with free breakfast and lunch programs.
We teach kindergarten through fourth grade, and have recently added a S.N.A.P. Program. My classroom is an inclusion classroom with several special education students and ESL students. Unfortunately due to the "grading scale" by our state, we are considered an F school, but are working very hard to raise our grade.
My Project
With a few bean bags and portable CD players, my students will be able to listen to stories and work on their fluency skills, while even relaxing! The items I am requesting will be used this year, as well as in subsequent years. There is no telling how many kids this project will touch!
By donating to this project you will be helping an immense number of students with their literacy skills.
I am hopeful that having them listen to stories will improve their fluency skills and make them more confident with their oral reading.
