My Students

My students are the best! They are so eager to learn and the year is just beginning many of them are still recovering from the horrific storm from last year! I expect great things for them this school year!

Although their home life is not perfect and is riddled with hardship made even harder due to the after effects of Hurricane Harvey, they come to school with a positive attitude.

They don't let their low socioeconomic environment get them down. My school is well aware of what our kids endure so it is our job to show love to all of our students.

My Project

My second grade class need a major boost with their reading skills! The majority of my students are not reading on grade level. I believe the resources I have requested will be a tremendous help in getting my kids where they need to be.

Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.

I want my students to embrace reading and not shy away from it because they are struggling readers. One of my goals is for my students to become fluent readers and it all begins with phonics.

With resources such as the Phonics Magnetic Word Building Boards and Phonics Interactive Journal, my students will receive hands on learning that they will be able to retain. Writing daily in the composition notebooks will help with grammar, handwriting, and sentence structure.

Reading and Writing Skills folder games and Boost Comprehension Small Group teaching center also boost their reading level because these resources provide students with the skills needed to be confident readers and increase their reading comprehension.
