My students need Rise and Shine binders, which include a pencil pouch, dry erase marker, sheet protectors and pocket pages to hold all of their supplies for morning work.
I love kindergarten is a phrase that never would've crossed my mind a year ago. Why do I love it? The student's that come to me in August are eager, quizzical and full of life! They keep me on my toes and the goal of my binders is to keep them engaged from the moment they walk through the door!
Our school is unique in that we are a small school, which makes us feel more like a family than a set of students and teachers.
We are a school where everyone knows your name. Our students are fun, vivacious and love to learn! We are a low-income population, but our kids come to school everyday ready to work hard and be their best.
My Project
Morning work has the potential to be dreadful. I want my students to start their day off on a good foot by learning in a hands on way.
We need pencil pouches, dry erase marker, sheet protectors and pocket pages to hold all of their supplies for our Rise and Shine binders for morning work. The Rise and Shine binders that I want to create will give students a chance to review skills every morning in a more engaging manner than completing a worksheet. This will also give me a chance to differentiate my student's learning as I can tailor the activities in each binder to their individual needs.
Last year my students started getting bored with our morning work.
It was hard to get all of our morning routines finished without several disruptions, which means that several of my kids started off the day in a bad mood. If students start the day off in a good mood then they are able to learn more throughout the day.
