Rise and Fall of Civilization Printed in 3D!

My Students

We have an awesome group of kids! They are intellectually curious, hardworking, and creative. I have been really impressed with how well they work together, especially when we do hands-on projects. They love to make, create, bake, and build!

My Project

We are studying the rise and fall of civilizations in social studies this year. Somebody brought in a 3D printed Australopithecus afarensis skull and the kids were like, "whoa!" Holding the skull made a huge impression on them and now, whenever they see a picture of a stone tool or other artifact they say, "It would be so cool if we could have a copy of that too!"

A 3D printer would allow them to create any artifact from human history and hold it in their hands!

Stone tools, Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets, Egyptian gods and goddesses, and any other object from history for them to marvel at. COVID-19 has taken away several years of field trips to museums, but this tool could empower students to make replicas of whatever they want from wherever and whenever.

My students love using tools and doing hands-on activities. How cool would it be if they could experience using stone tools and the tool creator of the future all in the same year? Help bring the future to these history curious minds!
