Ringing in the New Year with Hand Bells!

My Students

My younger students love to sing and move when they come to music class! They are eager learners who are always open to my new ideas and activities that get their brains thinking and their bodies moving! Whether they are singing, participating in group projects, playing instruments or musical games, they always go above and beyond my expectations. They ask intuitive questions about what they are learning, and always want to do more. Their creativity always shines, and we never have the same experience twice!

My Project

Younger students need to be active in their learning experiences. In my classroom, we do a lot of singing and game based activities. One activity that the kids could benefit more from is playing with instruments. We have a wide variety of classroom percussion, and the students absolutely love when the instruments come out to play, especially the boomwhackers!

Using the hand bells will offer my students a more clear sense of pitch and sound to listen to, and will create a team-building environment where they can work together to play a song, or even create their own!

These particular sets of hand bells are color coded so that students can understand what to play before they understand how to read music on the staff. There are limitless possibilities to what this classroom instrument can allow us to explore and create in the classroom!
