Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach third grade in a small PreK-12 unit school. Our school is low income, but my determined group of students won't let that stop them. They look forward to the new and exciting materials, technology, and resources at school and I would love to give them more!
My classroom is full of eager to learn students.
They come in each day ready to learn and always brighten my day. I love to see the amazement on their faces when they learn something new. Help us have the resources and tools we need to do so!
My Project
I believe teaching character education (kindness, empathy, respect, ect.) is just as important as teaching academics. We need to teach our students to be good readers and good people.
Kid President encourages us to "Throw kindness around like confetti!"
I have requested a variety of materials to help my students grow emotionally and socially, as well as academically. The Teachers Pay Teachers resources would be a great addition to my classroom. The ABCs of Kindness posters will look great displayed around the classroom. Each letter provides ideas to spread kindness. The Character Education Curriculum gives my students many different traits to learn about. I have also chosen a variety of books that support different character traits that we study. Authors like, Maria Dismondy and Julia Cooke, write fantastic stories that make it easy to connect with different social situations. The book, "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" is a daily guide for happiness in kids. With your help, my classroom will be filled with "Bucket Fillers" and kindness.
