Creating a colorful "Music Room" for the students at our Elementary School will lift the students' spirits! There have been so many changes this past year and a half since the pandemic started, and with a small allowance each year, it is difficult to give the students what is necessary to aid in their learning. Many times, there are not enough instruments to learn with and play on. We are also in need of music learning tools like: CD's and creative musical activities on hand. I am also seeing an increased amount of emotional and sensory needs displayed by the students. Having this kind of access to sensory tools would accommodate and create stability in this area. Please help to fund our music students with the resources they are desperately in need of.
My Project
Since the pandemic began, I have witnessed an increase in social and emotional needs within our Music classroom. The ability to have the tools necessary on hand to accommodate the students space in a more organized and comfortable way by using the "Colorful Tile Mats" will help the students to create their musical space. The "Liquid Tile Mats," will create a colorful, and interactive way to make rhythms and music, enabling a more productive outcome for students to be engaged. The "Bouncy Bands," while sitting in a chair will help the students to be able to move their feet and legs while focusing on instructions. "The Bright Colored Maracito's," will aide in music as the students are learning music from around the world. We have approximately 24 students who come to each class and a total of 430 students who attend Music classes each week. They all have various needs to space, learning abilities, emotional needs, special needs, and dynamics. Having access to learning tools that will create an exciting and comfortable space, will help in accommodating these high need environments, creating a more conducive atmosphere for each class as a whole. Thank you so very much for this opportunity!
