My Students
I teach 27 amazing first graders in a predominantly African-American, Title I, inner-city Baltimore school. We have many wonderful programs at our school, including a recreation center and a Judy Center. My students are eager to learn and are very creative, resilient, and kind. Although my students come in ready to learn every day, they don't always have the materials necessary to complete all of our tasks for the day or the things that we need to keep our classroom clean and healthy. My students and I would be so grateful to receive new materials that they can use to help them prepare for second grade and beyond!
My Project
This project includes materials that will enhance literacy instruction for my first graders! Although we will be learning virtually, they will all receive new journals to continue to grow as independent writers throughout the school year!
Students will get to virtually interact with centers in small group with these new materials!
These materials will help me to differentiate instruction by providing remediation for those who are struggling and to push my students who need more advanced work toward more rigorous material! This project also includes other classroom essentials that will make learning engaging and fun!
