it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Eighth grade is the year we introduce the Pythagorean Theorem. Students spend almost a month finding the missing side of a right triangle using our Pythagorean equation. After many weeks of using equations, graphing, and reading word problems, I love to end the right triangle unit with a lesson on the Pythagorean Spiral. Students learn to spiral a right triangle using the Spiral of Theodorus. Once the spiral is finished, students can decorate the spiral into an art masterpiece.
My students need new art materials to create Pythagorean Masterpieces.
Attention to detail is necessary to creating a balanced spiral. Students get very serious about their creation and request fine-tipped markers. Each year I am impressed by the artistic and precision dedicated to each student's work. I hope to make this vision a reality.
