My students need a tricycle to help teach them balance and how to use gross motor muscles.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
A typical day in our classroom is described with one word....energetic. Climbing on the monkey bars or jungle gym doesn't work for all. To be able to give our students another way to release all the energy they have would benefit them as well as the teachers.
I work in a classroom with students who are physically as well as mentally disabled.
They are students with LOTS of energy.
Our school has two playgrounds with lots of equipment. However, it is equipment built for typically developing students.
We are located in a community of lower class families and do not receive very much from government allowances.
So my classroom is turning to the donors community to hopefully help us out.
My students do not have the opportunity to ride a tricycle or bike at home. Either there is not enough money to buy one or not enough parental supervision due to work. Having a tricycle for our classroom will help teach coordination, balance, sharing, and for some the first real release of pent up energy. Learning this skill will be beneficial for the rest of their lives. My students will not be able to drive when they are adults. But the ability to ride a bike will open many doors.
Learning this skill will be beneficial for the rest of their lives.
My students will not be able to drive when they are adults, but the ability to ride a bike will give them the independence they deserve.
