Our students are smart and creative, and come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school itself is a performing arts magnet, and students have the opportunity to take music, movement/dance, drama, and media weekly, and they are eager to learn and to be creative. Over 75% of our students receive free/reduced lunch. In music class, we work on enjoying and playing music together, fostering musicianship and playing together in an ensemble. We sing, play instruments, and move to the beat! Our goal is to create lifelong artists, learners, and good citizens!
My Project
This class set of rhythm sticks will provide us an easy way to practice rhythms in class and have fun! All ages and grades love to hit these sticks together- they get out their energy and stress, all while learning music and having fun!
We currently don't have enough rhythm sticks to use as a class, so these are very needed- such a simple instrument, but very effective and fun to use in class!
Rhythm sticks are very easy to pass out, to store, and don't take up much room!
These sticks have one smooth side, and one ridged side, so we can experiment with different timbres and new ways to play.
