My Project
Before kids read words, they need to hear the tiny sounds inside them. This is called phonemic awareness. This is similar to learning to recognize different musical notes before playing a song!
Think of learning to read like building a magical reading castle; brick by brick, little learners put the pieces together until they can unlock the treasure of books!
Reading is a magical adventure: every sound, letter, and word is a step on the journey! The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness program is a 36 week program that supports prekindergarten students as they acquire these crucial skills through fun, interactive lessons that get kids moving and practicing sounds and language with traditional poems and rhymes.
Our littles will grow at their own pace as they begin playing with sounds through rhyming, silly sound games and clapping out words. Next they are introduced to the alphabet superheroes, learning that each letter has its own name and special sound! Now kids start blending sounds together to read simple words! All these skills come together, and suddenly BOOM! They’re reading simple books and feeling like little book superheroes!
Lets help kids LOVE words, sounds, and stories so they grow into confident, excited readers!
