My Project

My students are inner-city teenagers who live in one of the highest child poverty areas in the state. They all qualify for free lunch and have experienced some level of food and housing insecurity in the past year. Algebra 1 doesn't always make it on their list of important things to do. But, when I give them edible rewards for making an effort and for completing assignments, suddenly that puts Algebra 1 on their radar.
