This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is very simple. Our fourth grade team has encouraged our administration to let us pilot the research-based, structured literacy program at our school, REWARDS. However, we were only able to get the teacher's manuals purchased for us and one student workbook. The student workbooks are vital to the integrity of the program. The project includes 60 workbooks, which would be enough for our whole grade.
I have used this program one year previously and seen exceptional growth in my students!
Our school has a high ELL population and the focus on word structure, prefixes & suffixes, and word part meaning can also help us give targeted language instruction.
