In my classroom students have the opportunity to earn some fake money, and then once a month they can shop in our classroom store. This helps my students learn how to use their money wisely. Students can gain more money when they listen, do their work, and follow directions. This helps the students be held accountable for their actions. If students are really struggling we can then take away their money until they are ready to learn again. Having different options that the students can buy in the class store is great motivation for them to do good work. They will love the candy and special treasure box treats.
