Most of my 6th graders enjoy answering questions orally. They especially love it when they answer a question correctly and then get a special treat (candy, bonus points, stickers, etc). I teach in a rural school in Louisiana (in Denham Springs). I provide most of these treats and I sometimes have generous parents who send some as well. I would like to ask for various "treats" to give out to students when we play vocabulary games or question and answer type games. It certainly makes it more fun when they can get a "prize" and then more kids participate. I would also like to give each child a special treat and certificate on his or her birthday. Little things like this really make a child feel great! I would appreciate your consideration of this simple proposal. Thanks so much.
