Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been working at this Title 1 school for the past two years, and the school is not always able to provide resources to help my students stay comfortable and motivated, or for me to be as efficient as possible in my teaching. My students come to me with problems and deficiencies that may negatively affect their learning, and I am always trying to motivate them in different ways.
The goal for this project is to improve the classroom environment for me and my students by providing rewards and comforts which can motivate them and help me be more efficient.
1-time rewards for a whole class or an individual can make a big difference to students who need help pushing themselves. Comfortable cushions to sit on at their desks as well as little prizes serve as motivational tools. A standing desk for me to have at the front of the room will help with my teaching efficiency so I can access my computer quickly to change apps and programs, and a digital clock can help those students who have not learned how to read an analog clock.
I'm excited to incorporate these items into my classroom in the fall, and I appreciate the opportunity Donors Choose provides to teachers like me. Thank you!
